The one week buffer between catch and release season and real season begins at dark this Sunday evening. ALL small stream trout in Wisconsin is closed and the next Saturday it is re-opened and the majority of anglers are again allowed to fish and harvest trout again.
This looks like the last such closed buffer season. The stream regulations will become more confusing and micromanaged in the 2016 season. Make sure you look at the new “improved” regulations for 2016 when they come out. I guess simplifying the regulations means adding pages to the rules book and restricting even more the folks that like to keep trout.
