Man, I really feel for those kids from sconnie. I thought they had it.
They should be very proud of their run!
You guys on the east side of the river have a very good college program!

Dang it so close. Oh well it still was a great year for them. Refs pockets were looking a little fat in the second half….

We weren’t quite up to an itty bitty white guy who took it to us during the 2nd half. But if we lost, I am glad we lost to Coach K before watching Coach Cal get it…

Before it turns into too much of a WI lovefest lets remember the player that put up 19 in the second half and won the MOP award for the final four is from Apple Valley MN.

More proof that MN is a basketball powerhouse. jester

There were some Bo coaching gafs and terrible ref calls but Tre Jackson didn’t belong in the game and had more shots than the Tank while playing in the first half. Jackson was out of control, forced WI to play at Duke’s faster pace, and should not have been in the game. He had no control over his own body and fumbled the ball nearly every time he touched it. Showalter was the role player WI needed and didn’t even see the floor. Tre’s TO’s resulted in more than the 5 point differential and WI would have won without him. The refs also made bad calls down the stretch that also proved to be the difference. How do you miss a player stepping out of bounds? And how did they not see the bent finger and chance of rotation of the ball that went out of bounds? What the f*&^*& kind of video display were they looking at? I don’t remember a worst call ever at a critical moment in any game. There were tons of non-foul calls against Duke in the second half. Hand checks and lots of contact on the perimeter. Koening not scoring in the first half and Dekker’s poor outside game didn’t help either. He needs to stay in school another year and get stronger. Gasser also passed up open shots he easily nailed during the season and never put up a shot the whole game. There was several sequences when WI had the ball the Duke never covered him. He didn’t took like his normal confident self.

It was a fun ride and likely never to be repeated in my lifetime. Losing recruits like Diamond Stone mainly because of ACT scores hurts teams like WI but I agree with the academic standards.

I guess it’s time to go fishing. Judging from what happened at Miller Park yesterday there won’t be much else in WI sports to get excited about until the first kickoff.

    x2.

Exciting game. Duke’s freshmen guards have some skills and guts. Hats off to them! Hope they stay in school for at least another year. They are fun to watch at this level. WI needed to make a defensive adjustment to the high pick and roll that Duke scored so many points on in the 2nd half.

Congrats to Duke on the win and to the Badgers for a great run. They don’t see it now, but it would be challenging to not call this season a success.

Duke owned WI. Just like Mich St, it was never in doubt…just a matter of how many they wanted to win by.

Yeah right, did you watch the same game I did? It was nothing like Mich St. They got blown out after the adrenaline wore off at the start of the game.

Congratulations to Duke on another title.
    Tyus Jones was a stud!

Probably not our best game of the tournament but I’m still proud of the way our Badgers carried themselves. These players did an awesome job of representing the University of Wisconsin.

Great year for Wisconsin basketball and a lot of fun to watch.

I may not agree with the calls from the refs but its not going to do any good to complain about it today. Ryan needs to let it go. He’s a great coach but nothing good will come from ripping on the refs after a loss.

I watched the whole thing, WI was outclassed in every phase of the game.

WI fans complain about the calls? Please. The only reason they weren’t watching the game from home was the refs handing them the UK game.

Plus, tons of touch fouls were called vs Duke. But maybe your cheeseheads fell in front of your eyes when those were called.

Outclassed in every phase? Their stud big man sat the bench half the game. He did look “classy” on the bench. Frank proved why he was the MVP over the Duke freshman. Just how did the refs hand the UK game to WI? Tons of fouls called on Duke? Tons? WI didn’t get into the bonus until the last 2 minutes and Duke had a double-bonus half the second half.

Seeing the ball clearly go off a Duke player out of bounds is a legit complaint. So is watching a guy step out of bounds.

You sound like an jealous and envious gopher fan. You won’t hear the “classy” cheeseheads crying weeks after their season is over.

Calm down Pete. It was a joke. I think I made it very clear who I wanted to win. Do you read entire threads or just the tail end. I watched three college basketball games all year, all in the last few weeks. I don’t live and die with the outcome of the Gophers season.

I fully admit that I am a Duke fan (Goph’s fan first but we all know how that program is doing…). 2 fouls in the first half on Wisky. Coach K said at the half that he was going to have to get his players driving the lane to get the fouls going on Wisky and it worked. I would say that those were fouls and Coach K’s plan worked perfectly to get Wisky in foul trouble. The out of bounds call was terrible. Should have been Wisky’s ball! AND the non call of the foot out of bounds should have turned the ball over to Wisky. Plenty of those kinda things also went against Duke also. Here is where my hatred of Wisky comes from: Good kids but watch this video of the whiner coach: Way to congratulate the winning team and give credit where credit is due. Not…

They’re from Illinois genius. If you’re going take cheap shots, at least be smart enough to do a little research first.

You really are a great ambassador for your state. I feel terribly sorry for you, whatever torture you must’ve endured as a child/teenager to turn you into such a spiteful, jealous shell of a man must’ve been terrible. Here’s to hoping you find something in life that’s worth more than anger for you.

rr—I agree. I’m big Badger fan but Bo didn’t impress many people with his after game comments. You should always credit the other team and let the media talk about the refs.

Yeah, Bo does have a tendency to not think before he talks. It doesn’t help that he always looks angry, even when he’s happy. Smile old man.

Did you notice that was a snippet and the video was cut off? There were more comments made by Bo following the game. I don’t turn games on until they start and turn them off immediately when done because media coverage sucks at best. Bo is a top-notch 1st class coach. Framing quotes like this the way media does to sway public opinion and defame quality people come from the scum of the earth.

For the WI program and the B1G it was a bitter loss and every one involved has every right to feel down, feeling cheated also hurts but WI didn’t play their best game and still nearly won. Duke had nothing left. When a little white guy jumps on the floor and has a career day kind of says it all. It’s been a long tough climb since 1941. Even in the loss I’m still a proud WI fan, alumni, and UW employee. IMO UW represented the B1G very well for the last two years. And yes, any B1G team success pays huge dividends for the entire conference, including MN – they’ll be getting their bonus check soon just like everyone else and have quality players knocking on the door trying to get in just to be part of the B1G.

Yup…I was watched the entire interview. He is a grumpy old man that refused to give credit where it was due. I have no idea what interview you watched??? The refs? Hey man that is basketball and those were fouls…

He’s talking about the bruising the WI guards took without foul calls. I hate when any losing team complains about calls unless your team played a perfect game and WI didn’t by far. I’ll say it again. Tre Jackson took WI out of their own game and IMO disrupted what WI had going for them since his injury. Koening is by far a better point guard. He’s by far a better shooter and by far handles the ball better and plays within Bo’s system. Jackson was also the guy the first time they met Duke. To me it looked like Jackson was tired of not getting the lime light and wanted to be the hero despite the team. His over zealous play cost the team big time. Yeah he did score a couple times by f’d up way more than he helped and rushed his teammates up and down the floor at a pace beyond what WI established successfully all season long.
