Kinda surprised nobody has mentioned the Badgers advancing to the final four…

It would be fun, although improbable, to see an all Big Ten championship game.

I think both WI and Duke have a chance to knock off Kentucky. With WI, everyone focuses on Kaminsky while the real killer is Dekker. WI has some not so notable guys that really step up when the games on the line. While I’ve been hoping to see them implode all year (as a Gopher fan) they haven’t faltered and that win over Arizona was impressive!

Mich St over Duke would be a bigger upset IMO. But Mich St. is on a roll and people are overlooking them. Duke won’t do that and I believe Duke will advance. Who they play I think is the real question!!

Can’t wait to watch the MUCH more talented KU team beat Wisky by 10-20 points! Can’t wait to watch Kaminski cry over every one of his fouls. Such a whiner! I will say that Dekker is a stud though! (Hey Wisky fans what did you expect from a maroon n gold fan!)

This is why most of us don’t bother talking about Wisconsin sports on this site anymore. It never fails that some (or several) jealous MN fan starts taking shots as us.

That’s exactly what I expected although after several years of this, it’s gotten old. Much easier to just not comment at all on here and enjoy the ride.

Yes, sports should be about hand holding and kumbaya.

Do not overlook Michigan, they are playing really well right now. I doubt Wisconsin will get beat by 10-20 points. Kentucky is good but anyone is beatable.

Wow…Thin skin. It’s a joke from a fan of the rodents. Relax. (Although my comment about Kaminski is spot on!)

    Someone asked this question:

I answered and you and others took what is an all to common shot at us Wisco fans, once again.

    So there you have it.
With more shots to come I’m sure.

Back to fishing for me and enjoying the final four game, win or lose, with other Badgers fans.

I didn’t take a shot at anyone, I made a statement in jest.

To be honest if you took my remark that way, it is probably good that stay out of posts like this…and I am being literal and honest.

That’s a fair statement coming from a wild fan. It’s what you see on the ice every time you watch one of their games. whistling wink

Should I state the obvious about Wis and the NHL?

Badger fans not getting to puffed up is just being realistic IMO. The reality is when you get to the round of 16 or 8, they are all good teams and some of them are great. Doesn’t take anything away from a very good WI team that has had a terrific season.

No doubt, the Badgers are good. And Kentucky is great. That doesn’t make them unbeatable, anything can happen, but what would be the point in getting all cocky about it?

    Nothing like that at all.
    Just stating the obvious.
And for those who don’t know, the obvious is that there are much, much
better sites for a Badger fan to talk sports than this site.

IDO = great for talking fishing & hunting.
Terrible for talking sports if your from Wisconsin.

I believe there was a ‘go bucky’ thread floating around this weekend and right on cue, a MN fan wanted to punch the badger fans in the throat. Not really much more needs to be said, Bucky and their loyal faithful are enjoying a historic basketball/football run the past several years, one of which has never been seen in school history. Throw in the Packers and their consistent ways and the haters come out of the mud. Go Wild!

Aye! I missed that one. I guess that explains the sourness to this topic.

No, I realize we don’t have a professional hockey team either.

Other than the Packers I don’t really buy in to the border hatred. I’d like to see the Badgers beat Kentucky. I have a lot more ties to Sconnie than Kentucky. I’ll beat rooting for Wi and Mi ST. this weekend. I get into the games and can get a little l;oud but as soon as it’s over I’m on with my life.

The Wild on the other hand…
The only team that can stop them now is Chicago.

I gave up on the border battle, it’s just sad. It used to be more fun, now the rage and spite from the west has soured it for me.

Most guys that constantly bash everything Wisconsin on this site would rather see a Wisconsin team lose, than their own team win. I’ve seen it said on this site more than once. That’s no longer being a fan, that’s being a dink. Especially with college sports, I route for the Big 10 in tournaments and bowl games. I always put the Badgers first, but hell, I’d even root for the Gophers if they were deep in the big dance.

I want my entire conference to be better, so we all get more national notoriety and exposure. Only then will anybody besides Ohio State be able to recruit top players in any sport. Yeah, the Badgers have two consecutive deep tournament runs, but with zero McDonalds all-Americans. They’re playing against a team with 9. Can they win, absolutely, but things have to go their way.

I want the big 10 to be the powerhouse it once was, so we get more of those top athletes in basketball and football. I do not want to see the Gophers lose just because you’re on the other side of the river from me. It means more to me to meet up at the end of the season with both teams 10-0 than it does to beat up on a 4-6 team etc….

The hockey argument always amuses me. I live as far west in Wisconsin as you can get. Seriously, I can see the Mississippi River from work. I know about 5 people in this 50,000 person town who even follow the NHL. It’s not a big thing in my part of the state. There is a following around Madison, but there just isn’t the following state wide that there is in other states.

I’m from WI and talking sports on here is fun. We take shots at each others teams. That’s kind of how sports fans are in general. Passionate about their team and willing to dish it out sometimes and take it on the chin sometimes. You can’t cry foul when you don’t like it!!

Your one of the very, very few left though and the original posters question is living proof of that.

And by the way, I didn’t cry foul. I simply answered the original posters question.

Living proof of what?! The post was that I was surprised that I hadn’t heard anything regarding it. I enjoy the banter just as Cougereye does. I think you took my post the wrong the way Joel. I even mentioned I’ll be rooting for the Badgers this weekend.

Nevermind, I think I get it now! Sorry Joel!

I got Wisconsin winning it all in the only 2 March Madness brackets I filled out. What’s more, I had my favorite college BBall team Duke losing in the elite 8. And I don’t follow college basketball anymore, which I think speaks louder to the fact I will root for Wisconsin sports teams.

In Minni I couldn’t find 5 people at at work that gave a rip about the Wild either!

Actually being from Michigan i find Wisconsin sports fans far thinner skinned babys and much bigger trolls on the sports themed message boards in general.
Particularly when it comes to Viking topics.
