Wanted to get out while streams were still in good shape.
Hard to find a fishing partner on a weekday.
Was fishing close to the road today because I was flying solo. The wife gets nervous when I go alone and wants me close to the vehicle.

Brian Wisiniewsk with his fat rainbow
Kris Koepke caught this sweet brown.
Fished from 2pm to 6:30pm. Had to sit often. No endurance.
Second cast.
27 to hand.
Robins egg blue skies. I fought with going or not and the warm weather coaxed me out of the house.
Was 58 degrees and water was 46 degrees and crystal clear.
Lots of swipes but not hits. I knew with the bright sun the fish would be in cover or broken water.
24 browns to hand. Mostly micros.

Did add a written comment in log book
Krzysztof and Michael Drozd fished in Juneau County yesterday.
His personal best
I asked four people to go with me. It was a last minute thing so everyone had plans. I did talk my good friend Kevin Rott into following me to my ending spot where I parked and he taxied to my starting point.
It was the warmest day of the year so far *73*. It was mostly cloudy. The water temp was 60. I expected a good outing and wasn’t disappointed.

Beautiful photos of spectacular fish and scenery Len. For the most part, an overlooked angling gem! Dabbled in it a number of years ago and have always wanted to get back and spend time at that again. So many fish…so little time!
BTW, very interesting the varied spot patterns on the two browns you posted the pic’s of. Thanks and keep sharing!
Hit the water with Andy Nezworski at 9am. Was cloudy when we started and then got sunny in a hurry. We fished head waters due to recent rain. By 10:30 there were scads of hatches coming off. Blue Wing Olives/Gnats/Caddis were all over the place and little trout were working the surface. Andy tried dries with no luck.

Went out for 2 hours this morning. It looked like rain in the forecast and I looked at my favorite water and it was a little dirty. Thought I better get out there before it was too dirty to fish.
Second cast
Thank you for the stream recommendation, Len! I love the layout of this stream.

Wacky Conditions
I thought with the impending eclipse it might turn on the trout.
I wandered to Crawford County to an easy walking stretch.
Would have done better if the new land owner’s dog Princess would not have swam in every hole before I fished it.
Trip Report “Wisconsin Special”
I have been riding the pines for a while. The recliner seems to be growing to my behind. Yes my back is hurting but I decided to quit whining and get out there for an hour tonight.
Had three decent ones shake off before I could land them. I landed seven browns.
The below female brown was my last to hand. I smiled as I knelt to net her. I leaned forward and put a hand down. I could not have done it better if I had planned it. I thought about taking a photo of my hand placement.
