I have to run my dog in a NA test by Wisconsin Dells so I am going to bring the family along and stay in the Dells. I have never stayed in the Dells so looking for any recommendations on a reasonably priced hotel/water park to stay at in the Dells?

    Thanks

I have stayed at the Kalahari more than once and I would stay there again. It is an indoor water park (and outdoors seasonally) so you will be able to use the indoor portion regardless of the time of year or the weather. There may be capacity restrictions though because of covid. I am not sure what the resort or the state is doing about that right now.

X2 on Kalahari – Great place to take the family on vacation. I use to love going to the Dells as a kid and I still enjoy going as a parent. Lots of fun things to so and see in the Dells area. The fishing in that area is decent as well. I said on my next vacation there I’m going to bring my boat and do some fishing for sure .

My wife has been bugging me to go to the dells for a long time. im resistant cause i don’t feel the cost to benefit ratio is worth it. Ive been there once but i was a 16 yr old kid who was pre-occupied with girls so i didn’t care about the water slides at the time. What would you say the average cost would be for a family of 5 to stay here for say a 3-5 day trip?

I was in the same boat your in now. Of course, I was over ruled on that fight last year and was forced to go. To be honest, I actually enjoyed it…a little. But for a 4 day trip for a family of 4, total cost for EVERYTHING (including food/activities/lodging ect), was about 2K. Not too bad for a get away. We are considering going again if I can get away from work.

I would suggest making it a shorter stay as the kids tend to get burned out especially now that there is sooo much pent up demand on all these places and they are just packing em in now. If waiting in line is your thing, I am sure you will be overjoyed! Two nights is plenty for my family and the kids are done with it the last day.

If you stop at cruising chubbys it’s wat more expensive! We did a 30 person bachelor party at kalahari, rented a huge villa, had a blast

Kalahari is very nice. The Wilderness is very nice also. Black Wolf is pretty nice too. Mt. Olympus is another. but I don’t know anything about. I don’t know which is less expensive. I have heard that The Wilderness is better if you have smaller children. I have only stayed at Kalahari and Black Wolf and it has been awhile ago since I used the water park part of either one. Kalahari runs a lot of Conventions so it can be crowded. All have indoor water parks.
A lot of the outdoor attractions are open—go-carts, Ducks, rope courses, etc. Outdoor water parks are not open yet.

Wilderness has two indoor water parks including one designed for young children. It’s pretty good for youngsters and their parents. We’ve also stayed at Kalahari and Black Wolf, both are also good. They don’t cater as much to young kids if that’s your family situation.

Good news – it’s Wisconsin and they sell beer in the water parks!

This might sound strange but ebay has some great deals on condos. we have went to the wilderness twice stayed in a very nice suite for around 150 dollars per night.
