I got out walleye for the first time this season yesterday on the Wisconsin River with a good friend. We started early around 6:00 am and we were off the water at 3:00. We didn’t catch any monsters but we did have very good action on 13-18″ fish. Most of the fish came on live bait rigs with minnows but we did get a fair amount on jigs also. You know the bite is good when you run out of a bucket full of fatheads. It was good day, good weather, with a good friend. A good way to cure some spring fever and recharge the batteries.

Sounds like a nice day on the water,Andy. Do you happen to know if Chesters Creek launch area is open; ie. ice gone in the backwaters?
