Had two great weather days on the Pete on Friday and Saturday. concentrated most of our time in the river just above the head of the lake. Although the action was very good, had a tough time finding eaters, and ended up bringing 4 eaters in 16 to 18 inch range home, between the two of us. Lots of white bass and some crappie in the mix, with about 40 or so undersize eyes boated each day. Did catch a couple nice slot fish, though, the 27.5 and 22 inchers shown here. With lots of fishermen out hunting instead, the river traffic was low, and the solitude hard to beat.
The eyes were hitting plastic and jig/fatheads, in depths ranging from 8 to 15 feet. Lots of 14 to 14.9999 inch fish, so things look good for the future in this fishery. Water temps were hovering around 50.
