I got the boat out yesterday to target some walleyes below the petenwell dam! For those of you that don’t know, Petenwell Flowage is wisconsins 2nd biggest lake. It is one of the many flowages on the wisconsin river. I fished mainly in 20 feet of water casting out into 25 and dragging my minnow and spitshot back. I like to drag by casting and sweeping the rod very slow and then reeling up the slack and starting over until my bait makes it back to the boat. I caught around 10 to 12 walleyes in the three hours I was there. No keepers this time but the 13-14 inch walleyes put up a solid fight. Hopefully the big females start to move up soon.
