Well, after finally getting the ok from the doctor, I was allowed to go fishing for the first time since Sept. Spent the weekend up in the Rapids fishing with some buddies. It was real slow to say the least but WHAT A GREAT DAY to be out on the water. Sunny, warm, just enough wind to keep the heat at bay. Boated were some walleyes, smallmouths (they were feeding on baby crayfish), white bass and cats. We really had to fish hard for what we boated – trying everything we had in the tackle box and then same. No real pattern was found because one color of jig/plastics would work for a (very) little bit and then we’d have to find something else or some other type of lure and the same went for live bait too. It was interesting to say the least because as most of you know, I like using live bait – but didn’t use much this trip and gave my lures and stuff a real work out. I bet I used my lures more in one day of fishing this weekend then I have in the 7 years I have been fishing.
