Just curious if anyone else is fishing. This is my one time of the year where I fish for bass, which means I don’t usually catch much. Years past have always resulted in more walleye than bass. Even though we never do well, it’s a good time and a good cause.

What and where is this? How old does my child have to be, and any other info. would be great. Thanks.

It’s not actually a kids tournament. Thursday’s child is an organization that works with at risk youth. The tournament is a fund raiser for thursday’s child. Not sure if it’s full up or not, but I believe it’s $1000 entry per 5 boat team. There are some door prizes given away, and free food and beer after, but no big prizes for the actual tournament. They usually give plaques or trophies to the top three teams. Since it is a charity event, you can’t expect much for winning. If anyone is interested in more information, send me a pm and I will try to put you in touch with somebody who would know more than me.

I will be there as well. they also have a side pot that they do for the top one boat weight and one for big bass. I am looking forward to it because it is for a great cause and it will be a nice switch from my BFL schedule. I expect it to be a very well run tournament, A know a few of the guys that are part of the club running it and they are top notch.

Good luck to any there and be safe.

Hope to see you out there. If you see a couple guys in a 16 foot tan Fisher with and IDA sticker on the back of the motor, give a holler. That will be me. Easy way to tell my boat at a bass tournament is it sits high in the water due to the empty live well.

Lots of bass caught yesterday for the tourny. The Bayview Bassmasters commented on how there were many more limits brought in this year than they think they have ever had. This was a team event where there were 15 teams of five boats. It was a neat format and I enjoyed fishing it very much. Our team finished in 4th place with just over 50 pounds of combined weight. It took 60+ pounds for the winning team. Lots of fun.

On a side note, I had the chance to meet mendotaeye. It was nice to meet you, and hope to fish with you some time.

    Take care,

Bassman, it was nice to meet you also. There did seem to be a lot of limits brought in. The bass must have been hungry as my boat came in with a limit also. We caught more bass than I’ve ever caught out there. We also released a number of legals that were between 14 and 15 because I was thinking the minimum was 15 inches. I guess it just led to a heavier limit. I’m already looking forward to next year. Hopefully we can hook up some time when you are up and don’t have anyone to fish with.
