Went to Lake Wisconsin today to break in my rebuilt Optimax, after an hour and 20 minutes of that I had to stop and fish. I started on the main channel banks for smallmouth and all I found was shorts and sheepshead. I moved into a pocket about half way back and caught a 3-12lm skipping a fluke under some overhangs. Then moved all the way back in the slop and caught 7 more. 2 keepers. Fishing a weed demon and a frog. Using braided line. Hesitating did help catch more fish. All of the bass were within 3ft of bank.
