Tried fishing the Wisconsin River today and despite the very high water the river was relatively clean. I tried targeting walleyes with crankbaits to begin with. After awhile with no success I switched to ringworms and was able to catch a couple walleyes around 18 inches. They came off a current break over a submerged sand bar. The lower Wisconsin where I was fishing is very high with all kinds of current. If fishing from a boat be very careful out there! (I was shore fishing)
