Got out yesterday after getting some housework done. They had opened another gate on the dam a little ways above my usual spot so the water was a lot higher than opening weekend. The 20mph gusts of wind didn’t help, but my roomate and I waded out and tried our luck. Pulled in a 11″ or so Smallie on the first cast, and then got skunked until just before sunset. about 10 fish total with one 7″ walleye thrown in there for good measure. Hitting the current breaks behind rocks and the edges of gravel bars with white Mr Twisters and good sized jig heads (1/8oz-1/4oz) to get the baits down in the current. (Fishing in about 4 FOW)
Couple guys in a boat a little ways into the channel were pulling up smallies also.
Foul hooked a couple carp but never for more than a few seconds.
Sorry, no pics. (Fell in the last 2x and didn’t want to risk a camera or phone)
