Wiring for using 1helix 7 in two locations in boat

Hi everyone I’m new to the forum and I have a question about my Helix 7,chirp,Si,GPS G2 unit. I want to be able to use it either in the front of my boat or leave it on the console. Is there a T or something so I can have my transducer wiring at both locations ready to use . I only have one head unit so i’m not actually linking two together to use at the same time.
My boat is a 19′ Chaparral H20 FS so running the wiring is no problem. It came with a Garmin150 which was pretty basic so I have upgraded to this new unit. I thought about just putting the 150 up front and hooking it to my Terrova that has a down image transducer on it but Think I would be happier with being able to move the Helix up front keeping it hooked to my SI transducer.
If anyone has a similar set up I would love to see pictures.

Humminbird has splitter cables to use two transducers on one unit, but not one transducer to two units. Looks like you’d have to run two transducers to be able to do what you want. Why not? Probably because of low demand. Not many guys want to fool around with moving a sonar head back and forth from console to bow several times a day.

Your Garmin won’t connect to the DI transducer in the Terrova either. Terrova is MinnKota, owned by Johnson Outdoors which also owns Humminbird. All the MinnKota built-in trolling motor transducers are Humminbird.

That should be pretty straight forward and simple.

    (A) additional mounting bracket for the bow.
    (B) additional power cord for the bow. (installed and wired in as needed)
    (C) extension cable for the transducer cable. (installed ready to use)

To move the unit from the dash, unplug power and transducer cables, remove unit from mounting bracket. Plug the (preinstalled and hidden) extension cable into the transducer cable end at the dash.
At the bow, install unit into the bow mount bracket, plug in power cord and extended transducer cable. Turn on your unit.

There’s a choice to make with the equipment you have. Do you want SI at the bow or are you okay without?

If yes to SI then Huntindave is correct. You need to be able to use the SI transducer at the stern. Cleanest install would be to have a splitter so one end goes to the dash and the other 20+ feet cable runs to the bow.

IF you’re okay without SI at the bow then you have the option of leveraging the ducer inside the Terrova. You’ll need the appropriate cable to go from the Helix to Terrova. Sorry I don’t know what cable. I’m doing a similar install this spring but my Terrova is older without DI. Might be different connections.

Also consider a different mounting location by the console that can simply be pivoted back and forth depending on where you want to view it from. Long ram mount arm or something. Don’t have to turn off or unhook rehook.

I can pivot it but it is hard to read in the bow through the windshield

    Thanks for the reply Ron,
I was afraid that was going to be the answer, I looked all over but could not find a component to do what I wanted but I was hoping I just had missed it. I find it hard to believe i’m the only fisherman to wanna do this but I guess I am? I can always add a cable extension and just have to hook it up every time I guess? I have to this point always just turned the unit so I can see it from where I am in the boat but I thought with the SI it would be nice to be closer so it is easier to see.

I thought there would be a cable to convert my grain to run off the TM transducer but guess i’m outta luck there also.

    Thanks for the info.

Like I said, a different mounting location so it’s not behind the windshield.
