Need new socks for ice fishing, I have some 800 gram hunting boots that I wear and do not get cold feet so I do not need the thickest socks but something that wicks and keeps my toes nice and warm.
What do I need to get or look at?

Smartwool or Ibex make great Merino wool socks. Patagonia, LL Bean and others also have several Merino options.
“SmartWool” brand socks are the best I have ever found in 55 years!
“Darn Tough” Merino wool have held up out of all the types I’ve tried. SmartWool are good too.
Best ones I’ve ever owned. Kinda of expensive but they sure work!

Any merino blend sock, I usually stick to midweights mostly. Store brands like REI, Cabela’s, etc. often give you great value for you $$, all other brands mentioned in previous posts are great, too. Hope this helps, good luck.
I prefer a polypropylene liner sock and then a merino wool blend sock over that. Just don’t get so much sock that your boots get too tight. Need to have room for loft and circulation.
I wear Ice Armor by Clam poly liner socks underneath the thickest Smart-wool Merino Hunting socks. I have fished in some of the most extremes and never had an issue with cold feet.
Wear a thin wicking sock with a merino wool over it for the best combo. I believe Scheels sells them as a set.
This is what I bought.
I have noticed that Browning socks work phenomenally. They’re well-made and cost effective.
