Winter/ early Spring brown question.

Hello good people! Was wondering if some folks would be so kind to share their two cents on my question about doing some near shore Lake Ontario late winter/early spring trolling for browns.

My first time heading out there in a couple of weeks. I’m primarily a walleye guy but am REALLY itching to get the boat going again. I’m finding it tougher and tougher each year to keep a boat with a mini mortgage on it for letting it sit in my garage half the year lol. I also live 5 minutes from the shore or Lake Ontario (Rochester) so I sort of owe it to myself to get out there.

I plan on running a 4 rod spread with boards to start. From what I understand most fish will be caught relatively shallow. I was planning on running two lines with stickbaits (husky jerks or rattlin rouges) and then the other two lines with 2 oz. snap weights and spoons as I don’t have downriggers and I really want to try to get by without using dipseys.

Does this sound like a decent setup to mess around for a couple of hours and hopefully boat a couple of Browns? Any advice would be much appreciated.

    Chris
