Wife, kid and I will be at tamarack lodge for a week starting Saturday. It will be our 9th year going there. Nice clean quiet resort. Nice slips for docking the boat with power on the docks. They have bait and nice fish cleaning facilities.
I will be bringing spot tail shinners and leeches. Hopefully fishing is as good as it was last year, cause last year was really good with a lot of eater size fish caught. Will report after trip.

Good luck. I know a few of the guys here had some decent to good fishing a couple weeks ago up there. I was on Bowstring two weekends ago and it was leeches on a 3ft lindy one red bead and plain hook. We had the best luck in 13-15ft.

Well I fought the windy conditions quite a bit last week. Wasn’t able to fish at all Thursday. I did find fish over in the mouth of third river. Had a couple decent mornings there rip jiggin spot tails at 1.2mph. Seemed like the faster I went faster they bit. Had A good morning on shoreline rock by the dugouts. Couple decent evenings on the main river channel bobber fishing leeches with a few on a drop shot. Did some sun down into dark trolling on flats south side of tamarack bay. That was ok. All fish caught in 6-14’. Overall fishing was ok but nothing like it was last year. Weather definitely played its role. 54 total eyes boated mostly fished by myself. The boy came with a couple evenings trolling. Fish I did catch were all nice healthy fish. Very few smalls and only a handful of slots. Biggest was 22”ish. Lot of nice eater fish.

Sounds like a pretty good trip to me. I have only fished it once in open water. Dang that lake gets rough in the slightest wind.

I was up the same time as you but fished a different area of the lake. We did very well drift jigging with leeches in 12-15’. Bottom bouncing some of the main lake bars. And trolling at night in 6-8’

I shouldn’t really complain about it cause realistically I only fished maybe 5hrs each day. Few hrs in the morning and couple in the evenings. And that all depended on the wind. But 54 for the week is a longshot from over 150 I had last year the same time period. But last year I don’t think I had a wind or rain day the whole week
