What products work best for tinting a boat windshield?
Easy to do? Hard? Any tips?

any tint will do just be patient and start in the middle of the curve and work out the bubbles limo tint by trimbrite is really popular on vehicles for DIY but caution you the darkest stuff they make does look purple i wouldnt do very dark on a boat I am gonna do mine just so sponsor stickers stick out better

    thanks, i’ll check them out.

i’m thinking about a very light tint so that it doesn’t totally black out the windshield at night but does distinguish the appearance of the boat.

Contact Chris Granrud @ rainydaze guide service. He tinted his Skeeter.

yes, that picture is Chris’ boat from 2013 and SBC did the work.

i’m interested in suggestions for a DIY approach as this doesn’t seem like it should be too challenging since it involves only a few large areas with relatively straight lines.

3M or Llumar window tint can be purchased off Ebay. Don’t buy the cheap stuff at your local auto parts store – It will bubble and turn purple in no time. I’ve tinted a few of my personal vehicles and it is easy to work with – Just do a little reading on Google before you start.

I would guess 35-50% would be what you’re after (the above pic looks to be around 35%). Keep in mind it is darker from the outside of the glass than it will be from the captains chair.

Total bill should be around $50 with tint + installation materials. Upload pics of your completed product!
