Will we ever stop wearing masks?

I will say that I am considering wearing them at least some indoor places during future flu/cold seasons. It was pretty nice not getting a cold this winter.

First winter without a cold for me also. I hope everyone continues to wash their hands! I may mask up week or two before any ice fishing trips. Getting a cold while out on the ice for days sucks!

Once the population reaches herd immunity, mask mandate should be lifted. Having so many people refuse to get vaccinated doesn’t help us get to this number.

Ok I’ll bite. Riddle me this… if getting vaccinated keeps you from getting Covid… why do you still currently wear a mask? coffee

My solution to restaurants is this. Bring back two sections. Instead of smoking and non-smoking, have vaccinated and non-vaccinated. Those of us that have vaccine can party as close as we want without masks, while the other side gets 3 tables spaced apart and require masks!

Obvious you do not own a restaurant. Why wouldn’t the non-vaccinated people be able to go next to the vaccinated? If your vaccinated or not doesn’t mean you can’t carry the virus so I am confused on your logic?

Oh, wow, what a gotcha roll The efficacy isn’t 100% so you can still get it but the chances are greatly reduced. There are variants that have popped up that the vaccines weren’t specifically tested against. It is also still being seen how likely it is that people who don’t get sick can spread it to others.

We should always wear a mask and wear a vaccination id badge. Then we must build camps where we can house large concentrations of non vaccers to keep the health purity of our nation safe. We must protect the superiority of our vaccinated citizens.

Good idea. My only concern is who’s taxes will be paying to house the sickly non vaccinated folks? Do we let them reproduce? So many questions but I like the direction you are headed

    Non-vaccinated vs vaccinated
    The next “race” war…..

If you have the freedom to take the vaccine, others have the freedom to not take it.

Never thought of that but you are correct. We may have to limit reproduction on non vaccers.

I stopped during Easter of 2020, as that was the forecasted end of Covid per our leadership at the time. jester

In all seriousness, wear one of you want or skip it if you don’t. I do hope people who don’t wear one always (myself included) are a little extra mindful of who they’re around with regards to elderly, vulnerable, etc. If you don’t want to wear one or do, I won’t judge or think differently of you. I think they have helped per the science, but I also think they’re being overblown… especially for vaccinated people and those who are actually wearing them outdoors. I think one of the biggest places they are being overblown is in the media and general public. Even people here are letting a choice to wear a simple cloth math divide us. If disagreeing on a mask can get people so fired up, I’d question their mindset in a truly tough situation or during hardship.

Masks are not something worth arguing or judging someone over. It’s not like the opposing side is saying “I’m a Gopher Football Fan” or something outrageously stupid like that.

For the record, I hate wearing a mask, but out of respect for others, especially elders, I will wear one. That’s how I was raised.
I got the vaccine to speed up getting rid of the mandate.
Restaurant owners would also be able to open fully if more people would get vaccinated.

Seems really crazy at this point for those of us who have already been vaccinated to have to be wearing masks, just to do our part for those that don’t care to be vaccinated. In our area at least, they have more vaccine appointments available, than those that want to get it at this time. They were just discussing that on the news this morning. If we should have to wear a mask for those that don’t want to be vaccinated feel safe, well here is an idea on how to feel safe without infringing on our rights, just get vaccinated, or just deal with your choice. While masks have been required in most businesses near me, for the most part they are ignoring it at this time if you don’t wear one. And as to wearing a mask out of respect for your elders because you were brought up right, give me a break. Us elders that want to be, have been vaccinated for quite some time now, you are not doing anything to respect us.

I cuss every time i put on a mask.
Like the same reaction i have when i stub my toe.

There is no expiration date for MN Mask Mandate, nor is there criteria for expiration…
Therefore, we are waiting for the right emotional time to expire the mask mandate.
An emotional decision is blurry at best.
    Decision maker is MN Gov.
MN Gov is a emotional disaster of decisions and more worried about what the newspapers say.

IMO – Another 12 months Plus with current puzzy in charge.

I have to wear one at the office. As long as i have to wear one there any little change somewhere else isn’t gonna matter. If i have to put one on for the 8 seconds im in the gas station who gives a rats azz when i gotta wear it for 8 hours at work.

I think fish blood is about right. i would say another 12 months where the state recommends we wear them, with many other businesses requiring it for longer and some pockets of society that never stop wearing them.

My 2nd vaccination shot is tomorrow and then 2 weeks after that I will stop wearing a mask. If retailers/stores require me to wear a mask I will spend my money else where. I see more and more people not wearing masks.

X2 – I only wore one out of respect for the elderly and Sick. By now all of those people who wanted a shot have them. If they think I’m going to wear a mask to protect people who don’t want to get the shot – They are crazy !!! The only reason why I got the Shot is because if they ever open the Canadian border I’m sure they will require proof of the vaccine to enter. If / when they open the border I did not want to have to rush and get the shot.

So we have one thread here about listening to authority and complying with laws or face a knee to the neck. Now this thread implying we should not comply with authority or follow the mask mandate.

In one case we are sheep and the other we are criminals?

I wish I could have my cake and eat it too.

Correct. if the act doesn’t align with that groups agenda its not acceptable. Same thing on the other side of the isle.

the left and the right have a lot more in common then they think they do. they are both just pumping their chest and arguing in favor of the way they think life should be led and ignoring any hypocrisies that may exist

They’ll go away when the infection rate and the vaccination rate both reach a level that its safe to stop wearing them. I think that day is coming at some point, but we are not there yet.

I will ask you then, since when asked Fauci won’t even answer the question.
What is the level that is safe? Level of vaccinated people achieved? Infection rate? Active cases?

    This is ALL about control.

Yep. Some people want to use science as proof, but only when it works for them.

Threads about rioting and destruction but willing to look the other way about the same thing Jan. 6th.

People love the constitution and the 2nd amendment but not the 1st amendment nor a constitutional process of a jury trial, and vice versa.

Cancel culture is a good one too. A certain side won’t shut up about it, then as soon as they get triggered and offended they’re all about cancelling stuff. It’s happened plenty of times with outspoken people on this site, I don’t know if they don’t realize it or are just ignorant.
