Today we’re tossing some wild hog in the crockpot to make pulled pork sandwiches. The recipe found online sounded pretty good. First time cooking wild hog. Anyone have any experience or pointers?

Just a hog with more hair. Nothing different is needed. I’ve never had any ‘gamey’ wild hog unless it wasn’t taken care of properly. Great meat. I always put mine on the smoker, have never done the crock pot. Maybe a few drops of liquid smoke in there.

Same as pete posted above. Wild is more lean, but very tasty. Smoker for a few hours with a rub, then wrap in aluminum foil with butter and some cherry cider for a few more hours at 200ish. Falls apart.

My wife dies a number of crockpot recipies with cut pig and different sauces/gravy over taters or rice
