    2-2…

I wish that’s what it was. The curse knows when I am genuine though.

5-3 Detroit. Good news for the wild. Got tickets for Tuesday against the avs. Should be a good game. There’s always bad blood and maybe Torch is letting these guys defend themselves more than Yeo.

Negative or realist? I think this team has serious mental issues. 3 years of playing very well with 1 major, near season ending, slump. Each year the adversity was different and they did not react well. I think the core of this team needs to be changed, but with the contracts and what not, it’s impossible.

At this point I wish we could sell all the vets and let the youngsters grow and go from there.

I agree with a lot of this. Yeo’s comments alluded to the same thing. Division in the locker room. Suter is one guy I could do without. He openly criticized the coach early in the year and just had this demeanor of the “silent” types that drives me nuts. We all poo pooed Stoners comments a year ago because he is a avg at best d man, but there seems to be a lot of truth to them.
Idk how the hawks will have a team next year. All these free agents and few young guys? If they pull this off again then the other GMs better be on watch for how they do it.

What did Stoner say. I tried googling it a month or so ago. I know the one thing he said was there were a few vets who made their own rules or ran the locker room for their own gain…something lime that. What else did he say?

Maybe I’ll regoogle it. I think I mistakenly attributed the comments to John Scott.

Pug that is what I was referring to. He complained about not getting ice time when basically someone else hogged them all for special teams, etc. At the time I thought it was ridiculous at the time since Stoner would never be on the PP, but he may not have been frustrated for himself but others.
The thing about getting rid of contracts, well the Leafs were able to dispatch of Phaneuf in favor of a bunch of expiring contracts so it may be possible. Certainly term here is longer, but salary is comparable.

How in the world did the Wild end up with Mike Greenlay as a analyst on TV? The guy is terrible. coffee

Sticker, since I joked about Haula, he’s made me pay.

That goal was shear speed, will and effort. 170′ of beating 3 players.

Good broadcasters are hard to find. Look at Aikman/Buck. You should hear this Panthers color guy. Still hasn’t stopped whining that Scandela only got 2/minutes.

Of the opposing broadcasts I listen to, a little over half of them I’ll turn back to the wild

It’s hard to know if any of the locker room dynamics are cause for doing anything as far as changes. I sense frustration because the Wild are in this groundhog day mid-season slump again.

From recent reports by Russo and others, it sounds like we’re dealing with issues caused by NOT firing Yeo back last year when I was calling for it during the Olympic break. Obviously, players like Parise and Suter had lost faith in Yeo and started bringing in their own private coaches to try to break the cycle. On top of this, you also have Yeo making the situation worse by questioning some of the vets like Koivu, setting up a young vs old player dynamic. Regardless of who the blame various parts of this lie with, it all goes back to Yeo’s inexperience as a head coach. He just did not have the credibility with veteran players.

I think the Wild just need to ride it out with no more herky-jerky changes. I’m with Pug, we don’t need to sell out the future any more as far as draft picks. Any trades Fletch wants to make should be players for players, no more draft pick giveaways.

I don’t think there’s a deal to be cut for the Wild that will significantly change the playoff picture for them. Look at the standings and the teams at the top. Does anyone really see any Wildcard level team taking 4 games from the top teams this year?

It sure would be nice to knock the Avs out. We are in their heads.

I would like to see the Wild go through the West. Maybe knowing they won’t face Chicago will help.

Of course, I am getting ahead of myself. Still a long way to go.

Yeah, but all those games would be sooo late. I would never be able to stay up for all of them.
I think it would be an easier run that way.

Yeah, I forgot about that. Add an extra hour for me. Got to love those 7:30 Pacific time stars. That’s 10:30PM for me, and with how they run double headers during the playoffs, that would kill me.

Apparently Brodin is garnering offers. To me if they trade today, he’s one that I won’t mind seeing go. Nothing against him, he’s a solid player, but I don’t have an emotional attachment to him like I do other players.

Interesting quote from Zucker on Rozsival hit

Zucker isn’t upset with the hit by Blackhawks defenseman Michal Rozsival that concussed him.

“I don’t think it was a dirty hit at all,” Zucker said. “I didn’t have the puck, but I don’t think he extended his elbow out.”

It wouldn’t hurt my feelings if Brodin were traded either. I think he is a solid player and will be for many years, but we also have a glut of Left D that something has to give. He has an attractive contract so someone looking for a solid player for years to come.

Brodin for RNH would be welcomed by me, “could” solve the #1 center issue for years to come… Before this season I would have never want to part with Brodin, but Reilly has impressed and Oloffson is next in line…

    Do I dare ask?

Players almost never speak out against other players regarding dirty or questionable conduct. It’s probably better to just move on and let things work out as they should. I don’t think the hit was dirty but I do feel it could’ve been prevented.

Totally agree, but two questions. Can RHH even BE traded due to injury issues? I guess I don’t even know, is he back in the lineup?

Second issue is I can’t see RNH being traded on a one for one for Brodin. Surely they would want more? My guess is on a 1:1 trade, they wouldn’t settle for anything less than Dumba. So if it’s a 2:1 trade, who else would they want? I can’t come up with anyone we’d want to give up with Brodin.

Whatever they do, please do NOT trade off any more draft choices! The cold hard reality is that we have several replacement needs coming up. Koivu and Stoll are both in the last years of their careers, we need to start not just trading for replacements but drafting them as well. We are just way too thin for comfort, some of our best drafts of recent years are not even in Iowa yet and a couple of them may not even be in Iowa for next season.

    I’ll take Eberle instead.

Brodin is still hurt too. You can trade injured guys. There is probably some stipulation or contingency put in place. I am sure when trading for someone who has an injury you want your Doctors to be able to confirm the injury and severity. Now, how that works on deadline day, I have no idea?

Brodin was just activated, yes you can trade injured players, something is about to happen for the Wild… I hope it’s not for Louie Erickson…

I don’t think it means anything other than he’s healthy enough to play? Sending Folin down means Reilly sticks.

I don’t like a trade for Eriksson unless there were additional sweeteners added from Boston. Pastrnack maybe.

LOL, Yeah, we needed another D Man that is for sure. WTF!? So we traded FOR a position of strength? I don’t get it.
Im OK if we didn’t make any moves. Then we can just tank the rest of the year. Blackhawks, Stars and Avs all made moves. Avs got better so I am not sure we will catch them without making any changes ourselves.

So Wild MGMNT are still MIA as are Edmonton reportedly.

My guess if a trade goes off between these two teams we end up with RNH.

Scenario I can see if the Wild are working on a trade: Trade either Dumba or Brodin. They are expendable because Reilly is proving to be more than a serviceable NHL D. Also Folin is coming along nicely. It is likely Brodin based off of activating him from IR. Losing a D from Iowa and moving others around required another Minor League D man……Allan.

Hmmm we will see but there are possibilities here. But it is likely more wishful thinking on my behalf.

    EDIT NEVER MIND>>>>

I guess there’s still a line in queue for trades to be officially completed, we’ll see if anything worth while happens…

Didn’t see anything about the Wild making any more moves. Did anyone see anything?

    No news about moving Brodin.
