Wife advice needed

I bought a brand new Pit Boss pellet grill just last October. Wife loves the food that’s comes off of it. The devil made me buy a Char Griller Gravity Fed 980 just a week ago. It’s still hiding in the back of my truck away from her view and knowledge. She is maybe going to kill me once she finds out. How do I handle this? Ladies please feel free to chime in.

Just respond “Where did that come from?” Its always easier to beg forgiveness than to ask for permission.

Unless that new grill is sitting in her kitchen, I’m not sure why you think she should have a concern,,,,,

Sounds like you had some good luck at the raffle tickets the high school baseball team sold you whistling

My advise is no good.. I believe in the idea of asking forgiveness later than permission.

Wrap it up and surprise her with the gift.

Say the same thing women do when they buy things. Just say this thing I had this for years! At your time in life you shouldn’t have to ask anytime you buy something.

Wrap it up and surpise her with the gift.

That will go over like the year I gift wrapped a vacuum cleaner and presented it to her for Christmas.

I guess I never have to ask to spend my own money and buy stuff I want. Lol especially being a grown man. Set the damn thing up and start making dinner. It was a good deal that you weren’t passing up

I just did the same thing with a new wheeler. I didn’t say a word. I’ll just bring it home when it’s ready to be picked up.

Dont know how she can complain. She likes to eat dinner and you apperently like to cook it. Seems like a win win to me.

I don’t know how this works in reverse, but whenever my wife buys something we don’t need, she tells me how she got it for 20%, 40%, 60%, 75% off and couldn’t afford not to buy it. I’ve tried to explain how 100% off (aka not buying it) is actually the best deal out there, but it’s a work in progress.

This may be and unpopular idea here, but maybe buy her a gift also? I say this with some grace as I could certainly take my own advise sometimes.

I’ll add that you must say this with a scowl…like you never pay attention to me. )

If I can get by with showing up with an unannounced new-to-me Pro-V last week, you should be able to weasel your way out of a silly little grill….

My wife is a sucker for a good sale. She will even buy things she does not need if the sale is good enough. I tell people my wife would but spare parts for a airplane ( We don’t own a airplane ) if the sale is good enough. She tells me I’m probably correct and I better hope she does not come across a sale on Spare airplane parts doah

I’m amazed at the stuff I found around the house and garage after Billy passed away that I had NO idea he bought. 😅🤷 When he spent several hundred dollars on a new grill and also a new smoker, he made me many mouth-watering, amazing meals so I had zero complaints! But I’m highly persuaded into agreement when my belly is full of grilled and smoked meats. wink

My buddy did that. He went out to the garage later and there was a note on it that said, “take me back”. He didn’t and she got over it.

Tell he its like a Purse or a pair of shoes. You need a different one for different purposes. Some food taste better cooked with pellets and others better with Charcoal.

Thank her for the gift and just be so blown away that she is so incredibly thoughtful and considerate. I still can’t believe my wife went out and found me a stainless Tikka 270wsm, matching BOyd stock, mag pro, primers, 140 gr barnes TSX, and a Burris F class txt scope whistling

My wife has bought me quite a few cooking related items, as I generally do most of the cooking and she is a sucker for a good meal.

    I say send it.

Take it from a guy who has WAY to many weapons in the cooking arsenal. There might be some short-term pain, but once you produce a quality meal for the family, the criticism goes away REAL quick.

Tell her ”It was on sale” justifies any purchase in her eyes. I was in charge of the live auction for The NRA and a couple other banquets for years. We made a fortune off Terry Redlins, guys would buy for their wife to get in the door with the stuff they bought.

Once we find the first mud pit with it and she gets dirty, she’ll be like a kid on Christmas

This is kind of like when I bought a matching vintage Sea Ray to my first, but at least it was 11 years apart. This purchase doesn’t even have the Pit Boss broken in yet!

Fishing purchases generally mean a trip to the candle store the up side is if we lit all of them we would no longer need light bulbs. Now when she she sees a candle on the kitchen table it’s what scent is the candle.

However when I bought my new boat my wife was the one that wanted it right away not me. She did not get a candle on that one smirk

Do you tell her what she can and can not buy. I don’t nor would I. I might say some stuff is stupid but that’s it. And I expect the same in return
