Ok, might be changing locations for a small group of guys to go ice fishing for a weekend. Initial thought was Mille Lac, but that might not work.
Does WI even have resorts like they do in MN? Looking for a place with a good chance of getting fish.
    Any ideas?

    Wats:

Resorts all over the place in the north, hotels too, and if the snow isn’t real bad like last winter, the fishing can be decent… Which direction you want to go and when??? Hayward, Minocqua, Ashland, Oconto, Superior all have fantastic fisheries next to them.

Are you looking for a resort with houses? In NW Wisconsin you will find resorts to stay at but none. That have permanent houses or plow roads. Some can hook your party up with guides but they are all using portables and sleds and atv’s. They have smaller lakes and more snow meaning slush you see very few permanent house or driving trucks on lakes. Plus places like Chippewa flowage do not allow walleye fishing through the ice. I gave up on permanent s in the early 1980’s . I am 24 miles north of Hayward.

Normally I would tell you to keep driveing over to MN, but here is a video of a couple buddies of mine. Mike is a local guide who has fished the waters around Hayward and Cable his entire life. He might have what your looking for.

Mike Best? I am looking at trying to take my son on a day trip over xmas. He lives in Rice Lake, so not to far to go to Hayward Area for a day.

Cancelling Mille Lacs was a good choice then.
