It’s gonna be a brutal start. Sat’s forecast for me is 28mph winds with gusts to 48mph and a high of 40f. Sunday isn’t as bad…..winds are going to drop to gusts in the upper 20’s.

I think this year Monday will be THE day – LOL. To everyone heading out, be safe, hopefully your successful, and i hope everyone has a great time.

I’ll be sitting in the N.E. corner of a grassy set-a-side between corn and a steep hill of hardwoods. Hopefully the hill drives the wind up enough to give me the calm spot I’m looking for

I’m crawling down in the cedar swamp out of the wind.

I’ll be hunkered beneath a coniferous tree looking over a small clearing back in the swamp up in the NW Forest zone. I think getting up in a tree stand, and making any kind of steady shot, might be a challenge under the forecast conditions.
Good luck to all and safe hunting.

Good luck guys! I’ll be out and am looking forward to it. Forecasts on this end of the state have some overnight lows dipping into 18-19 range so will be some chilly mornings after a long, warm fall.

Good luck everyone. Will be out in a stand trying to not blow away no protection in spot I have to sit in. My dad should be better off with hills blocking more the wind on him.

I’ll have my 11 year old out for his first opening day. I’m taking a sleeping bag for him to keep warm with and break the wind. Hot chocolate, hand warmers, stocking cap and turtle neck. Probably still won’t be enough, but we should only be out for a few hours tomorrow, then hit it harder the rest of the season.

We had lots of wind here in Minnesota for our early opener but it didn’t seem to put the deer down to much. We saw mid-day deer in the wind every day we hunted and during the week there was very little pressure to keep them moving, yet they were on the foot. 50’s and 60’s didn’t hurt but the buck activity really ramped up the last couple days of that season. Even with wind I think you’ll do ok. Rain might make it miserable if its an all day thing but some light snow for ya’ll would be great.

Good luck to everyone. Stay safe!
