Why does it seem that only water rescue have airboats? This seems like a great state to utilize these fun toys. Shallow water no problem, beaver dam no problem, thin ice no problem, no water no problem!
We could be the first ones out and the last ones off the ice and be safe doing it With an airboat.
other than making a little wind I just dont see the down side. Then again I would like to drive a monster truck in rush hour traffic devil

I think Shooter at the Bluffs Bar and Grill has one for sale if it’s hasn’t sold already.

Because they are expensive, loud, fuel thirsty, expensive to maintain, and any water with rocks in it, which would be many of the shallow rivers in MN, would be VERY bad for an air boat.

They are also not good as a fishing platform. They are more for getting somewhere than they are for fishing when you get there.

Never going to catch on in MN. A jet outboard and a west coast sled style boat would be a far better shallow water solution. Taking on thin ice is a problem for such a short time each year that most guys aren’t going to want to throw tens of thousands of dollars at solving it for 2 weeks each year.

Well, that is true, but then again they also wrestle alligators with their bare hands and wear all black in the stinking, humid, Louisiana heat.

Like airboats, drinking moonshine, marrying close relatives, and other things that are common below the Mason Dixon Line, I don’t see any of the above catching on in MN. And that’s a good thing.

The Hennepin co sheriff implied that they are illegal in mn because of the noise. Just more people telling me to do what I say and not as I do. And you can mount rod holders to any boat. peace

They are also very good at overdubbing conversation and holding alligators on ropes while cameramen get plenty of video of splashing around that they can later splice together as many choppy cuts.
