I was going to reconfigure some poles and have a new canvas made for a larger fishing area and to get rid of that God forsaken steep slanted front of my old flip. Well, after getting a quote for canvas that far exceeded the cost of new, i sold the old and splurged. Fully insulated and a huge fishing area. Always hated the idea of using such little ice rods. I hate those stubby rods where you need to hunch over a hole. I refused to use them, so I haven’t used the flip over for nearly 10 years. Was just a glorified sled.
So, finally a flip that has a straight front and I can comfortably use my 41 to 48″ crappie noodles, walleye rods, and my laker rods.
I’m sure the 50# weight gain will suck for mobility, but nice to have some room without going to a hub.
Here is a 48-1/2″ modulous carbon walleye rod in the pic. Now, just need to find a kid to pull it for.me
