Well I think Saturday is going to be my last day on the ice! Gonna try to get out if the shorelines permit us to. Mid 50s and rain is a poor combination for the ice but we’re going yi give it a go!

Who else is ready for open water? I’m ready to be done on the ice!

I’m ready to be done too but there is still pretty good ice in Alexandria. It might be a while yet.

I’ve been ready for open water since December because I don’t ice fish. I think another 2 weeks and a lot of lakes will open up.

I’m planning one last trip Saturday myself then I’ll feel good putting the ice gear away and taking the boat out.

love ice but this winter ruined it for me. Boat is ready but the river is set to crest this weekend….. it will take a lot of work to get things right along the mississippi valley. heading out saturday to see if I can lend a hand anywhere if at all possible.

That seems to be Mother Nature’s MO since last spring. She’s been real cranky – high water through most of the season (no wake on the St. Croix mid season), completely dropped a bomb on the late fall bite and left a big Cleveland Steamer on ice fishing past January with the heavy snows.

I will give her the nod for making great early season ice. Lots of clear ice and no snow to be had with very reasonable temperatures.

Yes, bring on the soft water and please make it fishable.

I enjoy fishing the red early in the season for walleye since it’s closed in Minnesota still but it’s flooded so bad right now. Won’t be able to fish it for at least a couple weeks now.

Heading up a bit North in a few Hr’s. This is most likely my last weekend of hard water fishing. Myself and several buddies are going to hit it hard this weekend and then its time to put the gear away and get ready for open water season. Looks like it may be a bit wet on Sunday. Hope the bite is decent. Last weekend was hit and miss. Good luck to all getting out.

Same boat. Bought a brand new Yamaha on January 31 and made two payments before it hit the ice for the first time.
