Put the rod down for 3 seconds and post a quick note or pic so we may all live vicariously through you!

Ely has between 2-4″ on small lakes, so caution is advised! Fished for an hour yesterday and got these.

Hoping for Dec. 12th for the rock but not counting on it. Last time we had a El Nino affect I got sick and tiered of eating crappies.

Im catching Saugers and Walleyes in the boat on Lake Wisconsin, but is it bad if I’d rather be on the ice somewhere catching nice Gills??? Hoping for 3 weeks in southern to mid WI for some fishable ice, but its not looking good. May be stuck using the boat till close to Christmas

I think I’ve just decided that I’m going somewhere next weekend. Is there ice in Hayward area? Looking to keep it inside 4 hours one way. I don’t even care if it’s any good just want to catch a few fish!

I’m going to be on ice next weekend even if I have to wear a life jacket. There is a lot of small lakes frozen over here with 1-2 inches of ice… But we are in the danger of big snow fall again and that could be problems for early ice here in SE SD. 6″-10″ looks pretty promising by Tuesday. That’s terrible for making new ice flame

Supposedly there is around 4″ inches of ice in the Black Hills area of SD, in the Southeastern area some lakes are beginning to freeze. As mentioned above the snow forecasted early in the upcoming week will not help.

Well, this should really get your blood pumping if that’s the case. Unfortunately, it’s not my catch… Photo is from today somewhere in WC MN. Patiently waiting it out here in SE SD.

Very cool. My uncle live in deerlodge montana and he takes up to those mountain lakes for brookies. That would be awesome to do thru the ice!
