For all you Stu homers the next time you talk to him ask him about his interview he did on the Sally Jesse show years ago. Also ask him about trying to have his well to do elderly mother committed to get her money. The guy is a piece of s**t. I could go on.

Maybe at one time this was a good kennel/breeder. If you look at his website under “dogs he is proud of” there is none listed newer than the mid 90’s.

I don’t care how slighted the reporter is, there is ABSOLUTELY no excuse for the conditions these dogs were kept in even if they are exaggerated some. flame This man has some sort of mental condition. No one in his right mind would keep 16 dead dogs around and rotting carcasses for food for the others. This is just what gives animal rights groups more power. People see it and give them donations that they use against us sportsman.

Please keep us informed on this terrible story.

I feel bad for his kids, hopefully they’re safe and being taken care of.
There are people that run puppy mills that could care less about the animals and just want to make a buck. There also are people that are so mentally ill they can’t manage their own lives let alone others, be it human or four legged.

While I don’t care for how the story was written I’m not sure what is left to hear. There either was a barn full of dead dogs or there wasnt.

I’m not going to defend Stu, but we just had a similar flap with some Amish dog breeders. They were dunned in every way possible and had the hate protesters sitting on the roads in front of their homes/farms for several weeks. A local television station did a piece on the accusations and the reporter was allowed to walk thru the supposed puppy mill/animal torture chamber type of finger pointing to see first hand what the what was. She was joined by a usda inspector and a county health department inspector and they found absolutely nothing amiss. If someone had a bone to pick with Stu I think it would be awful easy to stir the so-called pot.

On the other side of the fence though, Stu makes some pretty off-the-wall statements about dna from dead dogs leading to a “super” breed. Something just doesn’t sound right about that and I wonder if Stu hasn’t lost a little mental acuity. If his mind is slipping he may well have things going on there that aren’t right but he thinks he’s doing the right thing. There’s a huge difference between doing something intentionally and doing something erroneously.

I’ve got to wait until things become clearer. Stu was always passionate about animals. This story just doesn’t sound like “that” Stu.

I had forgotten about meeting him until I saw the story in the local paper, as he was the first person to ever take me out on pool 4 a few years back. The list of directions to his place for the first trip ended with stop at the gate and call so I can put away my dogs. I expected prized/reliable hunting dogs that may run unwittingly upto vehicles but was surprised to see about 15 or so yard dogs fighting over an animal corpse. After putting the dogs back into an old barn building on the property we went inside his place to shoot the breeze while he finished tying up his rods. In one room just past the kitchen were 6 travel kennels, each with a female and a litter of what appeared to be recently born pups. This didnt seem too out of place, as with some kennels they prefer to separete the mothers and pups from the rest of the group to alleviate dog fighting problems. The only weird part was downstairs when he asked me to go grab the minnows out of the fridge for him. The walls were lined with double stacked kennels, each with a dog inside, throughout the whole first room at the bottom of the steps. It was one of those out of sight out of mind type experiences I forgot about until reading the paper. Just crazy.

That’s nuts. As a dog lover I am glad this came to an end and the dogs will be rescued.

I watched the video and the first thing I’d like to say is, was that reporter having his 6 year old kid film him on a cell phone?

It doesn’t look good, or should I say sound good, but those still shots didn’t tell me anything either.

I do hope the dogs can get adopted before they are of no use to the ASPCA and Humane Society.

I wouldn’t let you watch them either, so what’s your point?

I agree on the reporting, major slant going on with it.

Are you serious? Where’s the slant? Most of the story is the police report… Wow, just wow.

Most of what Stu said is true that they prefer smaller spaces and raw meet is better for them but from the story it seems to have gone a bit to far.

Ya think? Raw meat, maybe. Rancid meat, no.

I don’t recall if I posted it or it was from discussion but Stu said he was working on training a dog for the govt., I thought like a bomb sniffing dog or something, don’t remember.

Overall just a sad deal, hopefully this intervention helps to turn things around.

Sad, more like completely inhuman and criminal.
