I’ll be up with a buddy out of Red Door. I imagine we’ll hit the mud flats during the day. What are you guys doing?

Day trip on Friday with 2 BIL’s, what part of the lake we’ll be fishing is TBD at this point. Hopefully the light winds forecasted actually happen so we can fish outside a bit easier.
January 3, 2018 at 10:13 am #1740867going to move the permanent out to deeper water. hoping to find suspended crappies. was very slow last weekend setup in 20′. fish on the flasher but no aggressiveness.

Trying out the new home built shack.January 3, 2018 at 11:00 am #1740890I’ll be back in the Shack tomorrow morning. Took Thursday and Friday off to try and beat the fish house pulling frenzy that will be going on this weekend. Got lucky and Appeldoorn’s pulled me out Monday morning. I got the itch to pull a couple fatties up a hole this weekend!! Tight Lines!!
January 3, 2018 at 11:05 am #1740893There will be 10 of us going out of Red Door with portables, hopefully be able to get to the mud
January 3, 2018 at 11:28 am #1740904FWIW, Hunters Point just posted a video on BookFace saying they have established roads to the mud.

MNdrifterPosts: 1671January 3, 2018 at 5:30 pm #1741073wish I was. I got crap going on Saturday. Going to stay local (Annandale area) Friday/Saturday. But next weekend move over on the flat I’m headed to. I got a 3 day weekend, and so do the kids.

Hmmm? I’ll be heading up Sunday the 14th for the entire following week. Parts of 6 days out of 7 fishing Mille Lacs.
I think we had this situation last year but the timing didn’t work. I’ll PM you, would like to stop and visit if it works. No thanks though on the Busch Light…I’ll bring my own Summit.
Fishwater83Posts: 117January 4, 2018 at 8:41 am #1741266heading up to my castle on the north end, found a good bite last week out in the deep mud and left my shack on the spot. the north end resorts are pretty much full go out to the flats and Xcountry is easy with the minimal snow. I would imagine you can get wherever you want if things haven’t changed from last wknd.
TMF89Posts: 338January 4, 2018 at 11:31 am #1741344We’ve got a shack rented out of Twin Pines. Hoping they pull their houses out to the deep stuff so we can get in on the action! But we’ll be going up again for the weekend of the 13/14th to overnight in my portable, so it’ll be good scouting either way!

Unless on an ATV, cross country is never a good idea in a truck. But yes, some do it anyway.
Lucky they didn’t sink all the way to the bottom.

January 5, 2018 at 10:03 am #1741605I’ll be up for the weekend. I think I’m going to run the deep gravel.
wayinPosts: 3January 5, 2018 at 10:42 am #1741621Fishwater83 where did you have the best luck on top, on the break or on the deep side of the Mud. I am right on the break caught one 25 incher missed two.

January 5, 2018 at 12:29 pm #1741662Heading up tonight to the perm. Out of Mac’s Twin bay. Brad is up there now and will start the heat for me. Looks like I will be able to drive the 1 ton to the house this weekend. The temps start to rise and barometer starts to drop Sat. morning. Expecting good fishing.
January 6, 2018 at 7:48 am #1741777Chasing Tullibee on the north end today. Hopefully I’ll have to fire up the smoker tomorrow.
deertrackerPosts: 9237January 6, 2018 at 8:24 am #1741779Out of Hunters this weekend. 3 eyes under 17 so far this morning.
DTdeertrackerPosts: 9237January 6, 2018 at 4:41 pm #1741855Just left the lake. Caught two 18s this am and missed 4 or 5 out on the mud. Felt a little bad setting up within 40 yards of some permanents until we Had two guys come and setup between us and the permanents and within 10 feet of our house/truck (other guys in a Jeep and grey Jason Mitchell were off the tailgate too)…
