Not me that’s for sure. Looking for someone or some company who does quality work at a good price here in the Twin cities. Thanks
I was quoted $8 a linear foot from a local general contractor but he sure doesn’t want to do it. Too small a project I think for a lot of guys. I’d also be interested if there are local companies that do this type of work.
Thanks Matt-BTW we have 3 window frames and a front door frame-probably still too small a deal for many.
What exactly do you mean by window frame? The sash, the jamb, casing,

That’s what I was trying to decipher as well.
Mine is the outside casing (I think that’s the right term). I’ve been told the option is to replace (ideally with composite) or some people wrap them in aluminum.
It’s the outer wood sealed against the brick, mainly the bottom on my house, that are getting rotten.
The total cost to replace a window sill falls between $190-$300 for both parts and labor. The sill is the ledge that juts out at the bottom of the window. You should replace this part when it feels loose or starts to rot. A professional can deal with common frame repairs like this one effectively.
There is a This Old House Video on You Tube of this being done.
This is what I’m talking about. Couple get up into the casing on the left and right a bit on my house.
Looks like you have pocket windows{inserts}which should make the repair easier;but I would be Very wary of anyone that would tackle that for 8.00/lineal ft.
Theres a little more work to properly repair that, than most would think.
They are an insert….we live in s MPLS so these were MAC upgraded windows about 20 years ago.
8 bucks seemed cheap to me but he’s a guy we’ve used for a few projects and done great work. He’d likely do it in down time between jobs but that assumes he gets downtime…..
@eelpoutguy do you do this work? Still need to have you guys do my roof. Package deal?
I have never done a “sill replacement”.
The sill is an integral part of the window, so you are basically cutting off the bottom of the window and fabricating a replacement part on site. Then retrofitting it and hoping the caulk you use will last a lifetime as a flashing. Tommy Silva makes it look easy (he’s a great carpenter) but you have a masonry opening and that is an entirely different installation to take into consideration.
I’m sure there are guys out there willing to tackle it, but I will respectively decline. When I “did” do windows I was a full replacement guy only, pretty much exclusively Marvin.
I did google “windows sill replacement near me” I was surprised to see a few show up.
Not sure how someone could do it for $8 a foot. So a 3′ window is $24? I’d starve at that price.
I’m curious as what the warranty would be on a sill replacement if any.
Brick mold, that’s pretty a relatively easy replacement project.

MAC installed a significant number of Anderson Windows in their noise mitigation program. They may have a warranty.
Anderson wouldn’t be responsible for warranting the existing wood sill.
Removal, will be the labor/cost intensive issue. Replacing/waterproofing is easy.
