I was just on a bite where I couldn’t get bluegills to bite unless I had the smallest jig I own on. It was a skandia jig in either size 14 or 16 (if 16 is even a size they make). I only have 2 left. I was wondering what is the smallest tungsten ice jig you guys have ever seen? thank you.

I try not to use them, but I do have a couple and they work when the bite really shuts down. I use JR’s jelly bean tungsten jigs. The smallest size they have is 14, very similar to the Fiska’s 3mm, which is another good option for small jigs.

The HT Marmooska has been killer for me ever since I started using them over 15 years ago, but I have not used their tungsten line. They offer some seriously tiny jigs (probably smaller than you want) in lead, but I am unsure about their tungsten line.

Hareline, which is a fly tying company, make very tiny tungsten jigs, I will try to send pictures and sizes later.

Kender’s Outdoors sells what I think are some of the best Tungsten Jigs available. Their smallest I believe is 3MM with a #16 hook. The nice thing with Tungsten is even the smallest size falls fast and shows up well on the flasher. Check out their site. They are some great color choices. http://WWW.kendersoutdoors.com

Fiskas (yourbobbersdown.com) makes 2.5mm w/ #20 hook. That’s about as small as you’re going to get. You could make your own from jig fly hooks and tungsten beads if you wanted to go any smaller than that but a #20 hook is tiny to begin with.

I have all of the Fiskas UV Series in 2.5mm and they are pretty great. Their hand painted and epoxy jigs are great too and are also made in 2.5mm.

Skandia also makes some tiny tungsten jigs.

I really appreciate it guys. I ordered some of the fiskas and am going to wait to see what those look like before ordering some akaras.
