Who makes the best hitch?

I’ve had this one for 6 or 7 years, it’s brass and the holes are becoming elongated.
There’s alot of play in it and it makes quite a bit of noise.

    I pull a 16k lbs dump trailer.

    Any suggestions?

I’m not getting the picture so I’ll just take a guess. 2 5/16th ball? 2″ receiver? Go buy a SOLID shank hitch. Only other thing you could do is weld the hole shut and redrill it.

I’m thrown off by the Brass.

I like my B&W and I think there made in Michigan. I’ve never heard of a hitch made from brass

If it’s Brass replace it. If it’s metal and you like it you can have the holes welded shut and re-drilled.

Personally, just buy a new one. You got your money’s worth out of that one.

    That’s not brass

The balls are, receiver is not.
Not a good set up as the receiver holes have elongated.

They are zinc coated steel. Brass is way too soft

Lol, I just went out with some sandpaper and verified that you are correct.
Funny, I asked the kid when I bought it if anyone steels these brass hitches and he looked at me Funny and said “every once and a while”

I am also a big fan of the B&W Tow and Stow hitches.

I took Dutche’s advice and bought the Curt 45900 again.
Not sure what the shank size is, maybe 2″

If you have a 2” shank that hitch is rated for 14k. If you are pulling 16k like mentioned that’s pretty risky

If it’s a brass hitch take it to a recycling center and sell it, there’s some money there. Then get a steel one. But I doubt it’s brass
