I was at Reeds Thurs. Had a little of every thing. Single limits of some ammo.
People were leaving with multiple cases of 12 ga ammo. Looked like steel. They are still proud of it. $12-$13 bucks for Federal clays ammo. $25 for 9mm. Clays loads are drying up. Manufacturing went to hunting loads a month or 2 ago.
Days of waiting a few weeks before season to stock up are gone. Last February you could buy all the deer slugs you wanted. A ton hit the shelves that was ordered for last season. That came in after the season. I started in February and managed about 15 cases of clays loads. Not paying over $8 a box. Several 4 or 5 boxes at a time. Not always my favorite load. With rain, funerals, helping people move and delayed construction at the club. I may come out with a couple cases to start next year. I look for next year to be better. Basements are getting full for that day you need 100,000 rounds of ammo. And you are skilled enough to get that many rounds off before being hit yourself. Or you are going to arm your neighbors that have never handled a firearm. First time buyers have it in the drawer collecting dust. By now don’t remember what end goes in first. But the best news. Half the ammo on the shelves is from manufacturers I’ve never heard of. Lots of companies jumping into the business. Existing companies have expanded capabilities. Supply could surpass demand. Long as someone doesn’t create the next big doomsday event.
