Which members have kids going to the big Minnesota State Trap Meet at Alexandria?

Both my son’s are shooting this year which is awesome. I have a 7th grader and a freshman. We’re in 7AA shooting on Sunday 6/16 which is a great Father’s Day present!

The eldest really came into his own this year and had his first 25 straight. The younger one had to learn to shoot left handed due to cross dominant eye and he did very well despite the change.

Who else is going to be there?

My senior has said he doesnt want to go this year because he wants to leave on time to fish in Canada. I am a bit disappointed, but he said this year wasnt fun. He didnt shoot well all year because it was always windy.

My son should be going. This is his first year and he is averaging 16-18 out of 25. Unfortunately, we are not going because of the days my wife took him (I was out of town), they were late, and he only got one round in. Drives me nuts that she can’t be on time for anything and this time it cost my son his ticket.

My nephew and brother will be there. 7A

That is a very auspicious beginning! Hopefully next year he will be able to go.

Someone needs to have a chat with the wife about responsibility and time management.

Have your son do it. Otherwise it’s just too dangerous.

My son shoots on Wednesday. His 3rd year.
It’s a home field advantage for our team.
I love that we don’t have to get a hotel room for this state competition!

Collect $200 as you pass go.

Oh well, as I always tell Mrs Grouse, you can’t put a price on fun.

You guys should know by now. It takes a woman two hours to get ready. And when she IS ready and you don’t have your shoes on, it’s your fault! I know because this will be 50 years.

Has anyone met Rodworks wife? I have a pretty good idea what her response will be.

Kids got back from state. My oldest shot a 81/100 which got him 69th out of 218 on jv and middle shot a 61/100 which got him 80th out of 109 on novice. Both had fun and for their first year shooting trap I think they did well.

Another fun year for us as well. My 15 year old shot a 90.including a R1 of 23/24.

My 13 year old had a great first tournament as well. He got a 74 which was twin 37 rounds. This was his PB round x2.

Once again the Alexandria wind was a major factor Sunday afternoon. Some very difficult conditions with a building wind and lots of gusts.

I’m very proud of both boys. My eldest son had his first 25 straight and his first 50 straight this season.

My younger son did excellent for his first full year and especially considering he switched to left handed because he is left dominant eye. He is becoming excellent shot in a very short time.
