Who else here is from alaska?

And if so what is your favorite species?

Lived there 4 years can’t decide on what species kings r hard pullers.silvers are acrobatic, reds are a blast!! Who would want to choose there are all great fish to catch

I had the privilege of fishing in Alaska for 5 days. I caught Silvers, Pinks, Reds, Rainbows, Dollies, Grayling. My favorite? Chums. They fight like nothing else. I’d go back just to fish Chums.

I spent two 14 day trips up there(pre marriage…lol).

Hands down, the most enjoyable thing we pursued were the rainbows. Wow….. those were fun. We fly fished them downstream from schools of salmon and hammered them and grayling on egg patterns. It was an experience I will likely never be able to repeat, but think of often.

My favorite thing to fish for is halibut, just so you know.

What is your biggest?

I made 2 trips to Alaska and never got to try Halibut fishing. One trip was strictly salmon fishing and the other mostly duck hunting.

My 1st biggest is an 82 pounder, 2nd is 74, and 3rd was a measly 23 pounder.
