I went out yesterday in the same area as last weekend and did pretty well.

I saw less fish this weekend but, they were better biters.

Most fish came on the gobie tungsten jig. Did catch a few on jigging raps, naked. They didn’t want waxies on the raps. Caught only a few on the slider.

Ended up with about 20, better size than last week.

Might be last time on the ice for me.

Been asked to fish the Spring Valley walleye/sauger tournament.
May have to put ice fear away and get boat back in shape.

Seems like a short ice year for me.
Next year return to the Dakotas and/or Upper Red Lake.

How long do you think the ice will be fishable with this warmsnap? I’d like to fish up there sometime over spring break March 15-20 and curious about the ice situation.

It should be good for next two weeks or so,I wouldn’t advise truck travel anymore, pulling all permanent houses off today with all the snow melt going on, but for 4 wheelers travel and ice will be good for a while, still measured 27 inches of ice as of yesterday, fish were on fire, lawyers biting good also
