White Bear Lake Boat Launch Shooting

Just saw this on KSTP.com – Man, 5-year-old daughter injured following shooting at White Bear Lake boat launch. Does anybody have additional info?

What is the world coming to? Sad, very sad.

No details given. Surely they know approx age and description?? The people in that area deserve to know for their own safety.

People I have spoken with have mentioned it was drug related. Still, to shoot a 5 year old kid….That takes a special kind of evil.

Horrible news. Something didn’t sound right that he drove them to the hospital vs waiting for an ambulance (typically we see this when things go down illegally) but could have just panicked…

Hopefully she does fine.

Exactly. Nobody drives themselves to the hospital after being shot ESPECIALLY when a kid gets shot if there isn’t something else going on.

I’m all for spending time with my kids, but usually I leave them at home when I go make my drug deals. Occasionally they have to come with though.

Hope she makes a full recovery.

I saw a comment on one of the news sites saying (mockingly i assume), “defund the police”. Without getting political, it makes me wonder if police forces have been otherwise preoccupied and this could have been prevented because I see police patrolling that launch on the regular.

Good lord! A five year old child shot in some drug deal?? I’m going to hope against hope that she was not shot intentionally but caught in some crossfire or something but still horrific at that! Prayers for this little girl and hopefully she recovers and gets a chance to be with a loving family.

Still haven’t seen anything on a drug deal, someone got a link?

Sounds like the suspects were laying in wait for the family to come back to the boat launch. It was the girl, her father, his girlfriend and his twin brother. They figure the target was either the little girls dad or his brother who has a conviction for manslaughter and was released from prison just a few years ago. The little girl was in the line of fire. Terrible.

If it wasn’t for Alicia Lewis, I’d probably never turn Kare 11 on.

If I was shot but capable of driving I would drive myself to the nearest medical facility-or should I lay down and bleed for the 9-11 minutes it takes for the ambulance to arrive?

Why would you not do something to stop the bleeding while waiting for the ambulance to arrive?

If you are bleeding that bad, are you actually capable of driving yourself?

If you pass out as you are driving to the hospital, how many innocent lives are you endangering?

Not to mention the police will get there within a couple minutes, in reality less than that because its a shooting, and start rendering aid.
