Well if there is one thing I learned this year on open water finesse fishing a high quality sensitive rod with a fast tip was the difference in catching fish and not catching fish. I can’t count the number of times I was out this year with friends and there Walmart specials and I would out fish them 20-1 using same bait. I’m assuming this applies to ice fishing as well so I picked up some overtime and will be placing an order in for my first TUCR rod.

Main use for rod will be for panfish and walleye. I would like to keep it short enough to use inside a clam shell but still use it for hole hopping.

If there was one TUCR rod that you could recommend what would it be?

    Thanks in advance guys.

30-32″ QuickTip Split Grip. It’s the crescent wrench in your rod case.

Call John or Adam, they will set you up with the right rod for your style of fishing. I also second a 32″ QuickTip. I have a split and a straight handle rod. I would order a split.

I bought a 28″ QT split grip today with the same criteria in mind. Adam was the guy I worked with. He set me straight. I also bought a 32″ Precision for more specific Walleye targeting.
One thing I will say is that these rods feel really great in my hands. The build quality is very high. I haven’t fished with them yet but they remind me of my first G. Loomis rods. So balanced and sweet. I’m going out tomorrow to fish with them and I can’t wait.

I bought a 28″ Quick tip -1″ for Walleyes and Perch and love it. Between the Quickstep and the Power Precision i got my light and big lures covered. On Winnipeg last March the QT did pull some 8lb Walleye up.
