Which shop for a new shotgun?

I am planning to purchase a new shotgun, likely an o/u. I’m wondering which stores around the twin cities have the best service and selection? I’m not set on a particular model, I’d prefer to see how they feel in the hand and on the shoulder.

I’ve purchased a few guns from Joe’s. They always have good service.

You ever been to Cabin Fever in Victoria?
Ive not been there in about 9 years since I moved but I think they are still open. I liked the place then but Im not sure if its changed or not.

I found the best deal at reeds in walker this summer. 300 cheaper than any internet price. Well worth the drive.

1 – Boone’s in Isle has a huge selection of all brands
    2 – Scheel’s in St. Cloud

Ahlmans in Morristown is a fun place. Very similar to Boone’s

If you could’ve waited, or maybe you want another one…the Reeds gun show in the spring is an awesome time to buy. Most everything is 20-30% off and you can shoot just about anything before you buy it.

    I went and bought a A300 outlander…also ended up with a O/U Stevens 555 because it was 50% off.

I bought one this spring, too. How do you like it? I’ve got a couple hundred rounds through mine and have been very happy. waytogo

Myself as well as a couple guys who I hunt with all have A300s, and they have been flawless for all of us. I know mine personally, between trap league and hunting I have no less than 2000 shells (probably close to 2500) through mine of everything from trap loads to goose loads and it hasn’t missed a beat.

Very happy with my outlander. Virtually no recoil with target loads, no problems switching between target and 3″ AAA for geese.

For the money, its hard to beat the A300.

Agreed. My BIL has a Benelli SBE2, and he likes my Outlander better. )

I was curious how the A300’s stacked up against the SBE2’s; glad to hear it’s good. I recently picked up the A400 Xplor Action because there was a LH model available, and even more recoil reduction with the Kick-off tech. So far so good, but need to start seeing more roosters than hens so I can shoot it more. I purchased from Bill’s Gun Shop. They’re not exactly a sporting goods store, but they were real good to work with, did good on price, and I felt better supporting my local gun shop. I believe they source from Bill Hicks & Co., Ltd.

My BIL’s a waterfowler, so his only knock on the A300 is that it can’t chamber 3.5″ rounds, but that’s not a deal-breaker for me. The A300 shoots way softer than the SBE2. waytogo
