Which one: Slab Rap, Rippin Rap, or Jigging Rap?

What’s the better lure and size for walleye and panfish?

Also, what color?

I would start with sz#3 in UV colors myself.But that depends on where you fish.

I despise fishing with the UL #3 Rippin Raps as they are so light and take forever to get down. Jigging Rap gets the nod under the ice. The #7 Rippin Rap and Jigging Rap for open water.

I think I’m the only person in the world who can’t catch a fish on a jigging rap. Tried fast, slow, no movement. Nothing has worked for me.

I’m a fan of #3-#5 Ripping Raps. I have caught many, many fish on them from bluegills to Northern. I love when a 5″ perch smokes a #5 ripping rap. Pink UV and Blue Chrome are my go-to’s.

Rippin Rap 1, Jigging Rap 2, Slab Rab 3.

I always have a #5 Rippin Rap ready to go for on the ice. If I ever miss (We know that never happens) and a fish takes the bait or doesn’t go for the deadstick, I will quickly drop down the rippin rap and have had a high success rate with that. Rarely fish it as my primary however.

I have never caught a fish on a jigging rap. Admittedly I havent used one in years because I was tired of it tangling other lines, etc. I am sure it was a cadence thing or something but I dont even recall ever having a bite on one. Rippin Raps are used all the time for me. I only have a few slab raps and havent used them much yet.

Jigging rap catches on the edge of the hole, and loses fish sometimes. Other than that, a good lure.

i never get $hit to bite the rippin raps. for that reason i never bought any of the slab raps. now jigging raps………that’s another story. those things catch everything and are one of the first lures i put down open water and ice. i like the #7 for open water on P4 and the smaller ones through ice.

What color?

Size 3 jigging rap and ripping rap in UV green or orange tiger.I only fish the river and backwaters.Color depends on water clarity,the UV orange has been the top producer for big perch.

I’m seeing people say Size 3 and Size 7 but when I looked at Jigging Raps today they said things like 3/16oz on them, not a size.

What size are #3 and #7?
