Which one: LVS34-IF vs ECHOMAP UHD2 93sv?

I currently have the LVS32 with the original ECHOMAP UHD 93sv head unit and was wondering which I should upgrade, the head unit to the UHD2 93sv or the transducer to the LVS34-IF? I currently do a lot of panfishing with a little bit of Walleye fishing. I’ve gotten mixed answers on which I should upgrade, so I’m torn! It will be primarily used out on the ice, but will take it occasionally on the boat in the ice shuttle.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

get the ducer for the 20% improvement in range & sharpness…

Then save for a 10″+ screen as that’s the next biggest improvement…I haven’t seen the 93UHD2 in person, but the Livescope display difference between a 93UHD1 vs 106sv is substantial…

The difference in display resolution between the regular 93sv plus and UHD2 is noticable and makes a big difference. I can’t speak to the UHD versus the UHD2. The 34 is also a nice upgrade. If I were you, I would lean more towards upgrading the ducer than the head unit.

I would upgrade to a 10 or 12″ screen and run the lvs32

The ultra’s are a step above the standard echomap series. UHD2 is 2nd gen. of the UHD echomap series. Ultra’s are available with 10 and 12″ head units only.

unlike the 93UHD2 that has improved resolution and a smaller form factor and cradle over the 93UHD1, the Ultra2 106sv has the exact same specs as the Ultra1 106sv, you just get the added features of wireless networking and the app based screen recording function…

That wireless networking may have some real benefits for hole hoping. 2 screens along with FFS. Now if we could come up with a good motorized system to rotate the FFS pole by remote….

I have seen the VR application with FFS but with Garmin you have to step up from the Echomap series to use this.

    FFS does not transmit wirelessly

What the heck…. Even in a boat application that makes the wireless feature almost useless.

indeed and it uses alot more power too…that’s why the 106sv is a best seller for Livescope (once the BPS/Cabelas sales started)

I rec’d the Cabelas flyer yesterday with their annual Triple Crown Bonus. They did not have the Echomap Ultra 106SV or 126SV (with GT54 transducer) shown. I looked at their website and they have both still on their site. Of the 2 the 106SV was eligible for their Triple Crown bonus. Sale starts today and this is a good deal.

Appreciate the insight everyone! I’m thinking about upgrading to the LVS34-IF for now and then looking at upgrading the head unit when I can find a good deal on one. I think I’d like the better range and separation right now, over screen clarity.

Cabelas/Bass Pro has a 10% discount if paying with their credit card today and tomorrow. This can be stacked on to current sales prices and Triple Crown bonus awards. Minimum purchase of $50. Makes that Echomap 106SV even a better buy. With the additional discount maybe it is time to jump on the Livescope bundle.

Tempting on lots of other goodies also.

    Promo code = 25club29

If you do not currently have their credit card then you can applying online and approval is usually just a minute or two.

yeah, there’s always a coupon code or two available online if you’re willing to search for it…I purchased my 106sv 3 years ago on black friday for $999 and they had 2 working discount codes at the time that got the price down to $850 and then I sold the included GT-54 transducer a few days later for $150, so I paid $700 and got $30 in cabelas bucks for the 106sv Livescope screen upgrade … not sure if they still include the transducer in the box anymore?
