I have never had a trolling motor until now, so I have been running everything on my starting battery. That includes fishfinder, tilt/trim, navigation lights, bilge pump, and a 12 V lighter socket.

Just now getting into the trolling motor game, so I now have a group 31 deep cycle as well. I have never had an issue with having my accessories on the starting battery, but would it make more sense to move some of them to the deep cycle?

Only if you’re having issues, say with a dead battery and not able to start the main motor.

Check out Gizmoguy’s post in the other battery thread in this forum. If he can run all that crazy stuff on one battery then you should be fine with your rig.

Sometimes you can experience interference issues with running the depth finder and/or radio off the trolling motor batteries.
