Walleye student has been absent since shortly after the GTG on Mille Lacs. Hope he is on vacation and not anything serious.

SEE…..You guys should take this as a lesson. You start messing around on Fbook, then you just disappear. I’ve seen this before. He’s stuck somewhere in the internet abyss.

    Come back to us Andy!!!

No. I have no idea. I was just joking around, fishing for a response from him, as he was an advocate for Fbook. I am also worried. I hope he is ok. ???

No…I am not dead yet. Thanks to those of you that had concerns but if I was dead, not much anything anyone could do about it. I suppose if I was incarcerated, some of you could have come to visit me. smile

Not that it matters much but a couple weeks ago there were some posts/comments here that did bother me. Rather than become more entangled I realized it be best to just step away for awhile. Some of those threads seemed like car accidents…you really don’t want to look, but you can’t help yourself from not looking. Just wise I decided to change channel as BK suggested or rather just turn it off for awhile.

There is though mostly genuine like minded souls here and I certainly have found friendship and plenty of good lessons learned on fishing and overall life events (good and not so good).

Thinking about the GTG at Mille Lacs and how enjoyable that was for those that attended did get me thinking further. My thoughts were that there may have been more attending other than it was more or less a weekend commitment and at least 2 hour drive for most of us.

Gave me another idea if I should plan a 1 day IDO GTG around the metro for a Saturday or Sunday (spring, summer, early fall) and have maybe a potluck/picnic deal at a location where we could also do some shore fishing? Family oriented with wives, kids, grandkids? I dunno, throwing it out there to see if it sticks to the ceiling. wink

I think another GTG is a great idea. Mrs. Drifters says she’s in as long as Lifer’s making Bloody Marys. It would give everybody a chance to “hug it out”. Glad your ok WS. I was so close to signing up on FB to try an find you on the devils chalkboard. That was close.

Actually it was the image of you and the Mrs. hoofing it across a brutal Mille Lacs (ice)scape bringing forth your sausage/cheese tray and the big bowl of pasta salad. I was impressed because it was not expected to be potluck but you potlucked it anyway. Thanks for that even though the Mrs. “instructed” you to toss all that sausage and cheese at the end.

The point being is that now is the inspiration for a warm season GTG potluck for more IDO friends.
