Where to put a Wheelhouse on Mille Lacs

Buddies dad wants to let me use his wheel house. Basically split costs of a pass and we both get to use it. Last year he wanted me to take his side by side so I could use it in the winter…used it twice lol. Anyway, he’s being pretty generous. Question is, where do we want to put it? My place is on the north end, but I’m ok with going out of any resort. I’d like a place that I can run with portables during the day, fish out of the house at prime times or over night. I have a 4 and a 6 year old that I think this would be a great way to get them started in it.

We wouldn’t require storage during the summer or anything, not sure if a resort would lower price for that? Any resorts better than others? Would you guys shoot for flats or some other structure? Appreciate the info.

I mainly fish the north end of the lake, And always have good luck going out of red door. I would suggest them. Good road system, and plenty of area to get away. Id drop the house on either the first or second roads, which generally follow the breaklines, then Run portys out on the flats during the day.
