Thinking about bringing my wheel house up to the pond for a few days. It has been probably 20 years since I’ve been there. Where would you go out of and any advice on structure would be greatly appreciated. Don’t need the “secret spot”, just general areas. Thanks in advance

Typically guys head out to the mud flats this time of year, focus on the sand mud transition areas around 29 to 30 FOW usually. Just make sure to check with the resorts before heading out to get the ice conditions report.

Thanks for the info, I’ll try to put it to good use. I don’t usually target walleye so I’m sure I’ll have a learning curve. Mostly I fish panfish on way smaller lakes.

I’d setup on the edge of a mudflat near where it bottoms out. And the further you are from someone else the better.

what is a good resort to go out from to get to the mud flats? I see the Red Door mentioned alot, but I also see they have some access issues right now.

Nitti’s Hunters Point is probably your best bet. I used their roads last weekend.

I’m going to try Nitti’s this weekend. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. Good luck to all going fishing this weekend and be safe

Depends on which side of the lake is closest to you. Nitti’s does a great job on the east side. If coming off of 169 is easier for you, try Garrison Sports. They are just north of the Holiday station in Garrison.

The only issue with Garrison sports is the entry down to the lake is steeper than Nitti’s
