Normally this time of year, I would not need to ask, but my “home” water is pretty slow to say the least this year. I am looking to take a trip to either Winnie/ Leech, NE SD lakes, Alexandria,MN area or where ever you guys tell me my chances are best of catching walleyes are best. Hoping to head out Friday and fish 3 days and drive home Tuesday. Point me in the right direction Please!

P4 and Pepin is good through June if you stop there. you will catch eyes using all sorts of tactics this time of year. water is pretty high so it brings some challenges but high water is typically good fishing. weekends will be busy tho

Mille Lacs has the best bite going it seems. If eating fish is important I think Winnie would be at the top of my list from the places you mentioned.

NE South Dakota is hard to beat this time of the year for sure. Almost always several lakes in the area going around this time and fun to catch lots of different species.

Agreed, the Prairie Pothole lakes are so overlooked. And you can catch 100s of fish a day.

The main disadvantage; there isn’t much else to do once the fishing day is done.
