Where to Get ATV Tires

I’m looking at a wheeler that’s going to at least need rear tires. I’m in the Rogers area. I’ve looked at an online tire that I really like, so I need to decide – do I buy the tires locally and have them installed? Or do I buy them online and then look for someplace to install them?

Ideas? And what should I plan to spend? Tire & Install vs. Just Install? Size is 25 10-12.

    Thanks!

Check out Amazon and Rocky Mountain atv. Alot of time you get free shipping online, and then just get them mounted. Call around to see who has the best prices for mounting in your area.

Will just any tire shop mount them? And what would be a fair charge to have 2 tires changed and mounted?

Depends on tire brand, JET.com and Rockymountainatv.com will be your two best options. Just got a set last week from Rocky mountain. Incredibly fast shipping and with some reward bucks, I got a steal of a deal.

I mount my own, but I use beadlock wheels. I would say $10-15 a tire is a decent deal for mounting at a shop. They do not need to balance them, so you might be able to negotiate a bit.

ATVtires.com has come up when this question has been asked on other forums (in addition to Rocky Mountain, etc). I have not personally used them, but have looked at the site. Worth a look anyway.

Re mounting tires, great question. I asked at the local tire chain store by me and they want the same price for an ATV tire as a care tire. Over $30 a tire for mounting. Yeah, right.

I’m seriously thinking about buying my own tire mounting tool from Harbor freight. Between ATV tires, boat trailer tires, and lawn/garden tires it would dang near pay for itself in a year.

$30 is outrageous! The mini tire changer from HF is supposed to work great. Something I’ve been thinking about investing in, mainly for breaking beads. For $43, it’s paid for itself after 1 set change.

Even the full size tire changer at HF is $44 right now. If storage space weren’t such an issue, I’d already have one. Just for the lawn and garden and ATV tires I’ve had to have mounted in the last year, I’d already be money ahead by a large margin.

Good input. Thanks for the price on install. I found a couple really good deals on tires, so even at $30 install, I’m doing okay.

Check Walmart for mounting. Should be around $12/tire.

Got mine done @ Walmart in MG for $5/tire. Got my tires and stems off of Ebay. Free shipping. Kenda Bear Claw 8 ply radials. Most happy. Radials put more tread on the ground.

You’re right, I didn’t scroll down far enough.

Seeing as you can get a set or two of stems for less than $5 it makes sense to go that way. Unless you need them balanced as well?(speeds above 40mph)

I had the wheels balanced on my SXS since I thought it would be beneficial since my speeds frequently exceed 70mph and I did’t notice a lick of difference, IMO. The weights were also stick-on, so I had to remove my inner mud scratchers off the wheel, which allowed mud to fill in and un-balance the wheel.

I have also messed with Dyna Beads and have not noticed much of a difference unless i’m riding a lot of tar. For anyone who likes their ATV tires balanced, Dyna Beads are really the only way to go.
