I thought the weather predictions were supposed to be below normal? I don’t think I’ll be ice fishing before Wisconsin deer hunting this year like we were a few years ago.

I hear you man!! Looks like it starts to cool down mid November but not sure if it will cool enough to make ice.

Keep the ice away. I don’t mind a late starting winter. I’m loving this warm weather, makes it really pleasant in the boat.

I’m certainly ready for the cold. 2 years ago I was on ice for opening gun deer weekend (I don’t hunt), the year before it was Thanksgiving for first ice in southern WI. Last year I was still using the boat until mid December and had to go to North Dakota over New Years to find ice

I like open water fishing, but not as much as hard water fishing

I keep seeing them call for “at or below average” December thru Feb so I have something to look forward to.

Have plans for New Years on Upper Red this year, it really be nice to get on some ice before then!

There ya go….North Dakota has cold weather and they need your money to help keep highways open. My hopes are that winter stops just short of the MN/ND border, the cold being over there, until….well let’s see…..May of next year maybe. Then we can warm up.

Looks like it isn’t going to really get cold til the beginning of December. Keeping in mind that it’s a month away those forecasts can change with the drop of a hat. We all know how accurate the weather terrorists are…..Sure hope it comes sooner than later.

No cold in sight.. Not cool.. I remember just 2 years ago the Big Pond was frozen over the second Saturday of MN rifle season. That was an early ice season for us that year. I believe we drove out Dec. 17th and setup the 10X20 hard house. I hope mother nature starts cooling off. Bring On The Ice!!!
