Id be worried about those bunks and not having alot of room on the bottom section. I would put it up in the Maroon section. What kind of boat is that YAR CRAFT?

Put it on the transom so when on plane it skims the surface of the water, in an area of your transom with least cavitation.

BBC boards has several threads with pics of various models and location of duecer if they blanket statement isn’t clear enough. If you mount anywhere besides stated above, I.e. skimming on plane, you will not get readings on plane and will need a HS to boot

walinutz – I’d try where the current holes are first. Can’t hurt to try! My hull is slightly different, but I have my non-mega ducer about where your stainless screws are located and I get good readings on plane. I have a reata 1850.

You’re going to want to mount it in the white area in the bottom. I have mounted it there on a couple 620t’s and my bro just mounted his on a 618t. I’ll snap a pic for you tonight. Super simple way to mount it and its out of the way down there.

Here’s a quick sketch for the SI transducer mounting on a Ranger. Mounted this way you will never have an issue accidentally reading your outboard.

Don’t use the supplied screws, buy some shorter SS screws, learned that the hard way.

Here is a picture of mine. I first mounted a board on the underside of the step and then mounted the transducer to the board.
